YOUR ROLE

As the Field Engineer at Four Growers, you will be the critical driving force behind keeping our robotic systems functioning safely and efficiently. In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Manage the testing, deployment, and operation of our systems onsite at partnered greenhouses worldwide.
  • Coordinate between the engineering team and field technicians to troubleshoot and repair robotic components and systems.
  • Report metrics on robot performance and assist in improving those metrics.
  • Lead deployments of systems to new regions and customers across the globe.

NEEDED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience or ability to learn how to safely operate and troubleshoot equipment in challenging environments.

NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams across different cultures and regions.
  • High level of responsibility, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Extremely driven with a record of exceeding expectations in challenging environments
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 70-75% travel, including international).

HELPFUL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with design software tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Ability to program, interface, and troubleshoot PLCs and electronics.
  • Basic coding knowledge for system diagnostics and operations.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Travel: ~75%, including international travel
