Position Overview

As a Field Engineer within the Field Engineering Team at Seegrid, you will leverage your expertise to assist with AMR customer installations and demonstrations, troubleshoot field issues, and pinpoint areas for enhancement within our existing product offerings. You will be instrumental in defining product applications, assessing application performance, and facilitating installations either on-site or remotely based on the specific needs of the application. Field Engineers are the authorities on the complete range of Seegrid products and are accountable for ensuring ongoing education, training, and documentation as new products are introduced. Your experiences will empower you to create new tools and processes for swiftly identifying and resolving issues in situ. You will know the AMRs as if they were your own creations.

Successful Outcomes in Your First Year:
  • You will possess a comprehensive understanding of Seegrid's product offerings and be able to recommend optimal utilization strategies for customers.
  • You will take ownership of the Field Engineering support for a customer application from initial scoping through to implementation.
  • You will engage regularly with core engineering teams, product teams, and customer support teams at Seegrid to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
  • You will effectively manage field service tickets and conduct the necessary analysis to ensure their resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Defining, replicating, and testing new customer applications.
  • Assisting with the installation of customer applications.
  • Creating and delivering product demonstrations both internally and at industry events.
  • Developing version-controlled custom configurations for customer installations.
  • Maintaining training documentation for Seegrid products and creating new training tools and procedures as needed.
  • Managing service tickets that escalate to engineering.
  • Identifying product improvements and tracking issues encountered in the field.
  • Traveling to customer locations for data collection and issue resolution.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant technical domain.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automation systems.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with related sensor technologies, including 2D/3D LiDAR, monocular and stereo cameras, etc.
  • Proficiency in using containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
  • Programming skills in languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS2.
  • Knowledge of software version control systems (e.g., Git) and other software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, continuous integration, etc.).
