Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Plans, implements, and manages assigned customer accounts to ensure effective execution in alignment with company annual sales goals and objectives. Responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining a successful and mutually beneficial relationship with assigned customers. Gathers market knowledge through customer interaction to propose and implement account strategies including product development and product extension. Works with product managers to establish and manage consistent account pricing. Works with CRM tools for account planning, opportunity tracking, financial tracking, forecasting, and overall account coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Achieves budgeted sales levels for all products
  • Manages all selling expenses within established limits or budget
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned Core, Key, and Growth Accounts
  • Establishes relationships with key stakeholders within those companies and maintains sustainable relationships with appropriate decision makers
  • Aligns US Conec business planning with the strategic goals of the customer and coordinates USC efforts internally with Customer Service, Product Management, Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Assists Strategic Account Managers with objectives and programs
  • Assists Inside Sales Representatives and Customer Service to achieve stated objectives by coaching and supervising
  • Maintains a high knowledge level of the following areas & applications: multi-fiber connectors, single fiber connectors, optical cable termination methods, optical interconnect hardware, Optical Networking (i.e. LAN/SAN data center architectures, structured cabling standards, optical connector cleaning methods).
  • Generates preference for US Conec products over competitors and establishes US Conec as a relevant source of technical knowledge for existing customers using professional selling skills and techniques
  • Participates in special sales programs and promotions to improve US Conec market share at assigned accounts
  • Assists with development, planning and implementation of US Conec marketing plan including press releases, promotional literature, and trade shows.
  • Recognizes new product opportunities and reports information about applications, target specs, potential volumes, ASP's, and timing requirements to product management
  • Analyzes the customer's market, business targets and strategy, issues, needs, processes, value chain and key business drivers and effectively transfers this knowledge to US Conec
  • Provides monthly report to Regional Sales Manager
  • Coordinates the analysis and resolution of product-related field performance issues
Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Technical or engineering a plus
  • Minimum 3 years commercial experience in the fiber optic industry
  • Knowledge of fiber optic cable, connectors, and hardware
  • Advanced PC skills with Salesforce.com and standard MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well, as verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Travel required
