About the Role: The Simon Wiesenthal Center / The Museum of Tolerance is seeking an experienced Retail Sales Lead to join our team. This role is crucial in providing an exceptional shopping experience for our visitors, promoting our mission, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the MOT Shop.

About You: You are organized, proactive, and passionate about creating a friendly and helpful shopping experience. You have a knack for customer service and enjoy engaging with a diverse public. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently make you a great fit for this position.

Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of the MOT Shop. Display a commitment to the museum's mission and its values through a demonstrated knowledge of store merchandise. Provide excellent customer service to a wide and diverse public. Respond to customer service inquiries, including walk-in and phone orders. Process internet orders, including gift wrap and preparation for shipping. Handle cash/credit card payments responsibly with accuracy and according to opening & closing procedures. Maintain store appearance including cleaning, displays, and signage, as well as tracking and reporting general merchandise needs. Stay alert and work closely with museum security to minimize inventory shrinkage. Manage inventory, including tracking, restocking, and pricing merchandise. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.

Experience and Skills: At least 2 years of experience in retail or customer service (museum or bookstore experience a plus). Detail-oriented with the ability to self-start and work independently. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with museum staff, visiting students & administrators, and museum visitors. Personable and outgoing – ability to engage customers. Personality profile to fit into a safe, inclusive, open, and collaborative culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where you will get your hands into the details. Experience with Shopify or similar platform preferred. Knowledge of Judaica a plus.
