**Position Summary**

This is a professional position that reports to the Brand department and supports meetings and events within the entire organization, including but not limited to Consumer Tire, Commercial Tire, Retail Organization, and Executive Leadership. This position assists in managing multiple events in all stages and intensity with various budgets.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and remains calm under pressure. This position supports both internal and external customers, so the ability to work with a range of personnel in a professional manner is essential. The ideal candidate will also contribute fresh ideas and support improvements and positive change.

**Responsibilities**

Assist leadership teams and marketing departments to determine event objectives and support the design, planning, and execution of programming to meet those objectives.

Support budget management, ensuring cost savings are considered and the quality of programming is maintained.

Assist in researching and recommending sites and venues.

Support the Procurement Team in negotiating contracts by understanding contract verbiage and standards for negotiation.

Assist in creating budgets, managing expenses to stay within those budgets, and reconciling event bills. Provide recommendations on cost-savings and support the creation of final budget reports post-event.

Manage event logistics, including theming, registration, attendee communication, transportation, timelines, and budgeting.

Support the delivery of events onsite, including working with teams, managing attendees, vendor relationships, timelines, and logistics.

Assist in planning and executing trade shows, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.

Work side by side with more senior planners, gaining experience and insights from their expertise.

Professionally consult and converse with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization, both verbally and in writing.

Promote and maintain positive rapport between customers, teammates, and service suppliers to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction during events.

Write error-free event copy and communications with a clear understanding of structure, detail, and tone of communications.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) preferred or willingness to pursue

+ 3+ years in event management in planning and/or operations

+ 2+ years experience with planning and/or operations with trade shows

+ Experience with Cvent is preferred

+ Experience in various areas of event management - planning, execution, and wrap-up

+ Basic negotiation and budget management skills

+ Ability to work with vendors to negotiate contracts and pricing

+ Strong relationship building and communication skills

+ Verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and meet deadlines

+ Organizational awareness and knowledge of corporate standards and procedures

+ Travel up to 25% possibly minimal international maybe required. Will insert this at qualifications.

+ Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; or 3 years and a masters degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
