As an EHS Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of workplace Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs to reduce incidents, maintain compliance and instill a culture of operational EHS excellence for PPG's Little Rock, AR plant.

You will report to the United States & Canada (USCA) South Region EHS Director and partner with the plant manager to drive best practices to sustain PPG's EHS mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to site management in the development of EHS goals that drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage (communicating, influencing, collaborating) with employees, supervisors and management in the workplace every day to support an operational EHS excellence culture.
  • Coordinate the incident management program and support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical advice on EHS regulations and PPG requirements to ensure compliance; Prepare regulatory reports and develop solutions to a variety of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues.
  • Drive key safety initiatives including job safety analysis, site safety observations, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
  • Conduct critical EHS tasks such as identification of hazards, prioritizing risks, verifying adequacy of hazard controls & tracking compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Lead various safety teams and committees; Develop agenda for monthly EHS leadership team meeting; Facilitate EHS improvement teams.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and self-audits of environmental, health, and safety programs to assure compliance PPG standards and regulatory requirements; Recommend strategies to achieve improvements in EHS key performance indicators.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Safety Sciences, Occupational Health, Environmental Management, engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Must possess a "hands on" approach to problem solving and driving cultural change.
  • Prime success factors include the ability to influence, be creative, provide unique points of view and promote a strong safety culture.
