Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:Come join the Patient Access team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New EnglandPosition PurposeThe Patient Access Representative is responsible for pre-registration, registration and admission functions in the Emergency Department at Saint Mary's HospitalWhat you will doRegister patients in the Emergency DepartmentPerforms complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functionsVerifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefitsSecure signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functionsCollect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amountsRefer self-pay patients to financial counselors; answers patient questionsEnsure a customer friendly environment between Saint Mary's Hospital and patients, visitors, and physicians upon initial contactMinimum QualificationsMinimum high school diploma or equivalent, college preferredMedical terminology skillsRelevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferredBi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferredPosition Highlights and Benefits24 hours/week - Rotating Shifts but mostly Evenings -Shift and Weekend Differentials applyGreat Benefits and Health Insurance even for part time - Starting Day 1Career growth and advancement potentialMinistry/Facility InformationSaint Mary's Hospital is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital that has been serving patients in Waterbury, CT and our surrounding communities since 1909.
