Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Estimator with extensive experience in AISC structural steel erection. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating and bidding on complex steel construction projects, consistently exceeding the 10,000-ton mark.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating and Bidding:
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive estimates for structural steel erection projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project scope, materials, and labor requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals in accordance with project deadlines and client requirements.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to review project plans, schedules, and logistics.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the pre-construction phase, addressing design and constructability issues.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives to optimize project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with AISC standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements in all estimating and bidding processes.
- Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of project specifications to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Estimator in AISC structural steel erection, with a proven track record of estimating projects exceeding 10,000 tons regularly.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection processes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Tekla Structures, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
