Keo & Associates is a General Contractor, Construction Management and Design-Build Company. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Take-Off Assistant/Specialist to support our estimators in quantifying elements of construction using PDF plans, 2D CAD files, and 3D models. The ideal candidate will assist in developing scopes of work associated with quantity take-offs and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting and Collaboration:

    • Report to the Senior Estimator.
    • Coordinate with other takeoff personnel to facilitate the take-off and quantity comparison of a project's construction components in a timely manner.
  • Quantity Take-Off:

    • Perform quantity take-offs to assist estimators by quantifying elements of construction using PDF plans, 2D CAD files, and 3D models.

    • Assist estimators in developing scopes of work associated with the takeoff quantities.

  • Data Management and Analysis:

    • Use Microsoft Excel and/or estimating software to create spreadsheets that can calculate, compare, and summarize quantities of construction materials.
    • Review contract documents, including drawings and specifications, to understand the scope of work, project constraints, and different material types.
  • Record Keeping and Communication:

    • Maintain organized records, working drawings, and take-off summaries.
    • Create exhibits for review purposes showing take-off assumptions and communicate to others what has been included or excluded from the quantity take-off.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with reviewing construction drawings and project specifications, including typical sections, details, and cross sections.
  • Ability to measure, calculate, and convert material volumes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Experience working on design-build construction projects or estimates preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 a year
