You will be responsible for managing all aspects of key HR data and systems for the organization as well as managing HR business partnerships and support with assigned teams. LOCATION & POLICY ON REMOTE WORK

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week onsite. Our office is located at 490 Arsenal Way in Watertown, Massachusetts. Our beautiful office space has free, ample parking with a complimentary shuttle from Harvard Square and is on multiple bus lines, with the cost of public transit covered by Addgene (if onsite at least 4 days/week).

In joining our team as an "Addgenie", you will work with multidisciplinary internal teams to help fulfill this mission, including scientists, software engineers and product developers, renowned customer support teams, marketing gurus, and business development professionals. Together, Addgenies create and enhance opportunities for research scientists to deposit their materials, find products and resources easily on our website, and receive unparalleled support in receiving and expertly using our materials in their own experiments.

The Role:

You will build strong partnerships with Addgenies at all levels of your assigned teams and provide thoughtful, intentional, and responsive people support. In collaboration with the rest of the HR Business Partner team, You will act as a strategic advisor, offering guidance on employee relations, talent management, compensation, benefits, employee engagement, analytics, policies, and procedures. You will play an integral role in contributing to the development and implementation of HR initiatives that drive employee engagement, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.

As an HR Business Partner on the People team, you will utilize your strong business acumen and your proven ability to understand and align business needs with HR solutions to move the business forward in an ever-changing environment. You will also have experience working with HRIS systems (Paylocity a plus) as well as other HR platforms around surveys and performance management. The ideal candidate will effectively influence analysis, accountability, and decision-making in many areas that impact our people.

This is a hybrid role, based in Addgene's Headquarters in Watertown, MA. We ask that you come to the office 3 days a week.

To Succeed in this Role, You Will:
  • Act as a strategic advisor on all human resource-related matters by providing direction, advice, and useful tools to managers and Addgenies.
  • Help managers tie their business objectives to talent profiles and people strategies by providing guidance on workforce planning, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with other HRBPs to assess organizational challenges, develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that support Addgene's goals and objectives.
  • Act as a strategic leader and change agent to identify, implement and analyze the success of programs to support business needs.
  • Interpret trends in employee relations issues; proactively design and recommend interventions and solutions to facilitate an open, inclusive environment.
  • Drive initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Manage and act as our in-house expert on key systems and HR platforms, surveys and data utilized by the People team.
  • Serve as an advocate for the company's core values of supportive culture, continuous evolution, increasing accessibility, constructive collaboration, and meaningful connections, fostering an inclusive work environment through strategic HR initiatives and actions.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with other HRBPs to develop solutions, programs and policies while prioritizing employee experiences to maintain an inclusive work environment.
  • Monitor employee engagement and provide advice and recommendations on action plans to build on strengths and address challenges, ensuring Addgenies have a substantially positive employee experience across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to exit and beyond.
  • Use HR expertise to support growth, drive organizational effectiveness, and foster a culture of engagement and inclusion.
  • Lead change management process on values, mindsets, and behaviors providing HR guidance and coaching as appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Special projects and other duties may be assigned.
Skills and Competencies
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and trust as well as influence without authority at all levels in an organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience establishing and using workforce metrics to understand organizational strengths and development opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to focus on critical issues and balance and respond to competing short-term and long-term priorities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related software applications (we use Paylocity & Culture Amp).
  • Functional expertise in employee life cycle, performance management, compensation, benefits, recruiting, employee development, employee relations, HRIS, and data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to bring an open mindset to creative problem solving aligning with Addgene's people, strategy, and values.
  • Service-oriented approach with a commitment to creating positive change and delivering exemplary employee experiences.
  • Keeping up to date on HR best practices, sharing knowledge with team members.
