Our Business Development Representative must embody Pelican’s Core Values and provide excellent service in all that they do. A Day in the Life of a Business Development Representative INCLUDES:

Building stronger relationships with current SEG partners through communication efforts and in-person visits in addition to attending employee appreciation events, benefits fairs, and new hire orientations. Managing and maintaining all current and prospective SEG Partners, merchants, and contacts assigned to your territory in department tracking tool and applicable reports. Attending various meetings in the community and/or at trade associations to develop new business prospects and promote the credit union. Making presentations on financial services to groups to promote credit union products as needed. Assisting with the development and implementation of the overall business development strategy for the credit union. Business Development Representative Skills and qualifications include: 2-year college degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of education. 1 year of experience in client relationships/management and business development. Prior experience in a financial institution is a plus. Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. Reliable transportation. Other things you may want to know about this position: Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with the potential for work outside normal hours depending on SEG partner needs. Travel:

Frequent and independent travel is required for this position. Work Site Location:

Work will be performed in indoor and outdoor settings at SEG partner locations with a variety of industries. Home office is at Houma Branch, 292 S. Hollywood Road Houma, LA 70360.
