About the Role Workday is looking for a highly motivated

Senior Technical Accounting Manager

to join a collaborative and growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a great communicator, detailed-oriented, team player that enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents in a dynamic fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Assistant Controller. Through involvement with complex and unusual transactions, accounting for venture investments, and mergers & acquisitions activity, this position will play a critical role in the accounting processes and have high visibility to finance leadership within the organization. Responsibilities

include but are not limited to: Conduct and document technical accounting research related to new business initiatives and/or complex transactions

Analyze new accounting pronouncements to determine impact and assist with implementation

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that accounting and budget impacts of significant and unusual transactions are communicated timely and accounted for properly

Promote teamwork between finance groups and departments

Perform and document quarterly and annual controls

Perform and document impairment assessments, including non-marketable investments and the annual goodwill impairment testing

Support the non-marketable investment accounting process, including review of investments for adjustments and impairments, as well as internal and external reporting

Assist with research and disclosure efforts for ESG related programs

Assist in balance sheet and income statement flux analysis in accordance with close timelines

Support SOX compliance efforts and assist in improvement of control procedures

Assist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing data

Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

Support month-end close processes

Perform various ad hoc projects as requested

About You Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of relevant technical accounting experience (must include minimum of 6 years within public accounting)

Bachelor’s Degree

CPA

Other Qualifications: Software and/or SaaS industry experience preferred

Experience using large ERP system preferred

Proficiency with MS Excel

Proven experience in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment to meet tight timelines while ensuring high-quality deliverables

Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed

High attention to details and accuracy, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities

Collaborative and experience partnering with cross-functional teams

Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
