Commercial Loan Documentation Manager
The Commercial Loan Documentation Manager job manages the oversight and leadership for the Commercial Loan Documentation group. This role is responsible for the preparation of accurate loan documents for commercial loans, owner occupied commercial real estate loans, and Small Business Administration loans. In addition, this role oversees the process for collateral perfection and closing processes for the bank's Commercial and Government Guaranteed lending divisions.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversees and directs the day to day administrative and operational support for loan documentation personnel.
  • Monitors commercial lending pipelines to ensure timely closings in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitors and ensures the accurate creation and filing of UCC financing statements.
  • Ensures compliance with the organization's credit policy, as well as, all applicable State and Federal banking regulations.
  • Orders/reviews title work, applicable due diligence reports, and insurance documents for all loan closings.
  • Reviews loan packages to ensure accurate and necessary documentation for closing is requested. Assists with follow-up on any outstanding closing conditions; tracks receipt of incoming documents and handle requests and inquiries to ensure timely closing of loans, as necessary.
  • Reviews and negotiates loan documents with the loan officer and borrower. Reviews attorney prepared documents for completeness, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Communicates with external and internal customers as needed. Interacts with loan officers, lending department staff and outside contacts including attorneys, escrow/title companies and insurance agents.
  • Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of high quality commercial operations projects and engagement, motivation, and development of team.

  • This position will manage a team of loan administrators focused on SBA lending.
  • Additional responsibilities will include:
    • Familiarity with and compliance with SBA SOP
    • Working with E-tran to obtain SBA number
    • Working with SBA to clear hold codes
    • Ability to lead on SBA PeRRis reviews
    • Ensure accurate complete of all SBA required forms
    • Completion and submission of applications to SBA for approval
    • Ability to manage SBA 7a guaranteed loan sales
    • Management of SBA broker approval and payment
    • Ability to recruit and build a successful SBA Loan Administration department
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of loan administration experience focused on SBA lending
  • Prior management experience
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and departments
  • Strong organizational skills
