**Job Summary**

We are currently seeking a **Chief Aerospace Manager** to manage university engagement throughout our Contract Research organization. This position is located in **Mountain View, CA** .

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Chief Aerospace Manager position is a key member of the contract support leadership team, will report directly to the Site Manager. Responsible for leading research and development activities and tasks to advance Air Traffic Management (ATM). Has direct oversight over main leads for specific technical areas. Works with our Partnerships Manager to engage academia and industry to advance ATM R&D. Will act as Site Manager during Site Managers absence.

**Responsibilities**

+ Lead high performance teams in the advancement of ATM R&D

+ Management of task schedules and deliverables, and reviews of monthly and quarterly reports; Coordination of task plan changes between primary and subcontractors

+ Attend technical team meetings to track project status and provide expert advice on improving operational efficiency and effectiveness as needed

+ Review financial reports to ensure tasks stay on budget

+ Oversees development of course code and software assurance and safety plans

+ Applies best-practice strategic program governance and proactive tactical execution in support of simulations and/or demonstrations to prevent issues from arising whenever possible, especially where scheduling and performance are critical path dependencies

**Key Qualifications**

+ Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 5 years of experience, including leading and mentoring researchers, engineers, and other technical professionals; Masters Degree in related field with 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD.

+ Understanding of and experience collaborating with academic institutions to advance R&D, author and present technical papers, and produce IP

+ Proven ability to work at the interfaces of scientific fields to promote intradisciplinary work

+ Experience in developing and assessing budgets for task orders

+ Demonstrated business acumen, including significant experience interacting with multiple organizational levels

+ Knowledge of NASA or a related Government Agency.

+ Travel required to other NASA centers and sites, field test locations, and industry events.

+ Must be a US Citizen.

+ Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 5 years of experience, including leading and mentoring researchers, engineers, and other technical professionals.
