The Controller will lead the company's financial management activities, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will also oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. An initial focus will be placed on enhancing internal controls and financial workflows to improve efficiency and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and consolidating monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
  • Developing and evaluating budgets and preparing budget reports.
  • Formulating, implementing, and strengthening control systems within the organization.
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, identifying discrepancies, and reconciling accounts.
  • Managing the accounting department and ensuring all aspects of the general ledger are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, regulations, and established accounting principles.
  • Utilizing various software programs to manage and prepare accounts.
  • Preparing and assisting with audits.
  • Handling billing and tax documentation preparation.
  • Creating internal controls and policies in collaboration with the company's financial team.
  • Working with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes.
  • Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records.

Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a controller, assistant controller, or in a similar role.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs, with proficiency in NetSuite and SaaS platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills.
  • Exceptional math and accounting skills.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.
