Position Overview: The Chief Accounting Officer will spearhead the organization’s financial oversight, encompassing corporate accounting, compliance reporting, budget formulation, and the establishment of internal control measures. This role reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions. A primary objective will be to enhance internal controls and streamline financial processes to boost operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and consolidate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Design and assess budgets while preparing comprehensive budget reports.
  • Develop, implement, and fortify internal control systems across the organization.
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, addressing discrepancies and reconciling accounts as necessary.
  • Lead the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger.
  • Guarantee adherence to legal standards, regulations, and established accounting practices.
  • Utilize various accounting software to manage and prepare financial accounts.
  • Assist in audit preparations and execution.
  • Manage billing processes and tax documentation.
  • Collaborate with the financial team to create and enforce internal policies and controls.
  • Work alongside the IT department to maintain financial records and system integrity.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in a controller or similar financial leadership role.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFM, or CMA are preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software, particularly NetSuite and SaaS platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and robust project management skills.
  • Exceptional numerical and accounting capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
