Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager, Strategic Market Development Reports to:Head of Business DevelopmentDepartment: Complete Genomics Inc. Location: Home based. Job Summary Complete Genomics (a subsidiary of MGI) is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager, Strategic Market Development to lead the efforts in developing key accounts and new market segments in US. MGI is a leading provider of life science and diagnostics tools such as genetic sequencing instruments, lab automations and consumables. Your Experience: Experience in developing partnerships with key accounts in the field of population genetics, biopharma clinical genomics fields. Proven ability to identify and close key accounts and large genomics projects in the above fields. Enthusiasm in working a start-up, where you need to leverage your past experience and connections to form strong partnerships to challenge the existing players in genomics markets. Major Duties and Responsibilities Work as a key member of the business development team to develop and manage strategic project initiatives in the field of population genetics, biopharma and clinical genomics. Develop go-to-market strategy and drive alignment of strategy, messaging and tactics. Build close relationships with key customers, thought leaders and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends. Maintain and nurture valuable relationship with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and business partners. Follow through collaboration to ensure successful outcome from KOLs. Coordinate with business development and marketing teams to design and execute voice of customers (VoC) initiatives to enhance market awareness and adoption of related technologies and products.Identify new applications, assess opportunities for new partnerships and product offerings, propose, design and execute new project initiatives that align with business development goals. Effectively coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of business development projects and proper communication of project status to external partners.Collaborate extensively with sales and marketing teams to refine product development and launch strategies, generate product marketing content, contribute key business opportunities, sales and marketing tactics to achieve corporate business goals. Develop and execute business strategy, design special programs and initiatives in penetrating key accounts in the area of population genetics, biopharma and clinical genomics through partnerships. Support Complete Genomics commercial success, by driving strategic processes and programs. This includes partnering extensively with internal and external stakeholders, and developing and/or improving processes that increase operation efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsible for setting and delivering business development goals including revenue goals.Maintain an efficient level of cross functional communication with all related departmentsPerform other work related duties as assigned Proactively share experience, knowledge and skills to peers and help to build an organization with strong professionalism. Qualifications Master or Ph.D degree in sciences or business administrationMinimum 5 years of customer-facing experience in genomics field, academic or industryProficiency in promoting services or products in the field of next-generation sequencing spatial genomics and multi-omics.Strong understanding of the needs of collaborators and customer within the genomics industry.Technical or commercial experience in population genetics, biopharma and clinical genomics strongly preferred. Hands-on experience in identifying, negotiating and executing business partnershipsProven success in bringing long-term revenue and success through partnerships.Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.Comfortable working in a high-growth startup where a hands-on, practical and flexible approach is required.Superb project management skills and ability to prioritize.Proactive self-starter who sets aggressive goals, and delivers key projects on time and within budget. First class communication skills and a successful track record building excellent relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority and across a wide range of disciplines.
