This role requires expert clinical judgment in cardiovascular and stroke care, focusing on outcome management and improvement. JOB FUNCTIONS:Essential Functions: Data Abstraction: Abstract clinical data as required by STS, ACC, NCDR, AHA/ASA, and other reporting bodies (5%). Audit Data: Audit data to ensure accuracy and verifiability (5%). Trends: Monitor critical data trends, share insights, and guide improvement plans (5%). Quality Improvement: Develop and oversee quality improvement processes for heart and vascular patient care (5%). Stroke Quality Dashboard: Create quarterly dashboards for stroke quality and related measures (5%). Education: Educate staff and physicians on cardiovascular and stroke quality initiatives and patient care guidelines (5%). Data Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data definitions, entry guidelines, and quality requirements (5%). Expert Resource: Act as the expert on stroke outcomes measurement and related issues (5%). Confidentiality: Uphold professional confidentiality for privileged information (5%). Reports: Generate ad hoc reports and data for internal and external needs (5%). Acute Stroke Care Committee: Lead the Acute Stroke Care Committee (5%). Required for All Jobs: Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in nursing. Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing. Work Experience: Required: 7 years in Nursing/Patient Care/Clinical. Required: 3 years in Cardiovascular/Stroke Care. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in data abstraction and nursing. Detail-oriented with strong collaboration skills. Ability to work autonomously and proficient in computer skills. Skilled in troubleshooting, teaching, and data management.
