Role Summary: The Point of Care Testing Coordinator (POCC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of point-of-care testing across our facilities. This position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of quality improvement initiatives, educational programs, and regulatory compliance related to point-of-care testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Conducts thorough evaluations to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and institutional policies for point-of-care testing.
- Quality Management: Develops and implements quality control measures throughout all stages of specimen handling, testing, and reporting to guarantee optimal patient outcomes.
- Training and Development: Facilitates training sessions and continuing education for staff involved in point-of-care testing, ensuring they are well-versed in current practices and standards.
- Collaboration: Works closely with management and medical leadership to assess and recommend new technologies and methodologies for point-of-care testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Preferred certifications include Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist credentials.
