Position Overview Our dynamic organization seeks a Senior Manager, Compliance to lead compliance reviews and opportunity assessments for both new and existing Panorama programs, partnerships, and fiscally sponsored projects. This role will be responsible for evaluating new opportunities and playing a key role in the business development process, informing organizational policies and compliance strategies, leading fiscal sponsorship transfers for incoming or outgoing projects, and responding to project escalations. The person in this role will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in support of Panorama’s diverse portfolio of programs, collaborative funds, and fiscally sponsored projects.

The successful candidate will have deep experience in nonprofit compliance and risk management, a strong understanding of fiscal sponsorship, and exceptional skills in critical thinking, project management, and interpersonal relationships.

This position is a part of the Finance & Operations team, which is comprised of 17 team members across four specialized functions: Grants, Contracts & Compliance, Business Strategy & Operation, Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis. This exempt, full-time position reports to the Director, Grants, Contracts & Compliance and is available on a fully remote basis within the United States.

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities:

Business Development Compliance (40%) Lead business development compliance reviews and opportunity assessments for potential new Panorama programs, partnerships and/or fiscally sponsored projects. Responsibilities may include:

participating in information-gathering calls and joining business development meetings with external stakeholders

reviewing materials and conducting due diligence reviews

outlining follow-up questions and communicating with potential partners for additional

information/clarification

liaising with Panorama’s external legal counsel

providing internal readouts

drafting or providing input for partnership proposals

drafting or negotiating fiscal sponsorship agreements.

Participate in strategic program design to ensure compliance considerations are thoroughly assessed for any potential new or expanded offerings.

Facilitate discussion among relevant internal stakeholders to support decision-making and/or internal alignment on compliance considerations for business development opportunities.

In partnership with the business development team, support prospective partner cultivation and engagement.

Contribute to maintaining updated business development-related files notes, dashboards, and/or Salesforce entries for shared access across the team.

Organizational Compliance (30%) Stay up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to nonprofit operations, fiscal sponsorship and philanthropy to inform Panorama’s organizational policies and compliance strategies.

Provide training and support on compliance-related matters for internal team members and/or fiscally sponsored projects.

Develop compliance-related policies, training materials and/or overview reference documents.

In partnership with the Director, Grants, Contracts & Compliance, identify and resolve enterprise- and project-level compliance and risk issues (e.g. impermissible 501(c)(3) activities, lobbying/political activity, high-risk activities potentially impacting corporate insurance coverages).

Support organizational risk management and compliance needs, including commercial insurance, workers compensation coverage, charitable solicitation registrations, and organizational policies.

Fiscal Sponsorship Project Compliance (25%) Lead fiscal sponsorship transfers for incoming or outgoing projects, including engaging external and internal stakeholders, conducting due diligence reviews, and project managing and/or implementing key operational transfer activities.

Oversee and/or project manage the financial, operational, and contractual requirements in support of project onboarding, offboarding, and/or transition to a different fiscal sponsorship model.

Respond to high-level inquiries and escalations related to fiscally sponsored project transitions or active projects from internal and external stakeholders; delivering partner-centric, culturally competent, and responsive assistance and resolving or escalating issues in a timely and proactive manner.

Team Leadership (5%) In partnership with the Director, Grants, Contracts & Compliance and the Senior Manager, Grants & Contracts, provide operational and team leadership for the Grants, Contracts & Compliance team.

Organizational Engagement & Participation Embrace Panorama’s Values, Culture, and Mission by taking proactive action in challenging situations and contributing to team activities like committee volunteerism and coffee chats.

Demonstrate curiosity and commitment to continuous learning, adapting, and asking questions.

Act as a brand ambassador for Panorama, representing the organization externally, and contribute to process improvements and social change initiatives.

Provide timely and accurate inputs for co-designing initiatives, proposals, reports, and knowledge sharing efforts, using tools like Harvest, Salesforce, Lattice, SharePoint, and Certify.

Manage individual contributors and interns, supporting their professional development and participating in internal learning and development opportunities.

Typical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

10 or more years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years working directly in non- profit operations or compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Familiarity with legal frameworks governing organizations exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including experience with lobbying compliance and reporting.

Experience or familiarity with fiscal sponsorship (particularly Model A & Model C).

Demonstrated critical-thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents.

Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with a strong attention to detail and the ability to balance workload under deadlines and with multiple priorities.

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with demonstrated abilities in building trusting relationships and facilitating collaborative problem-solving.

Experience with organizational policy development and rollout to internal and external audiences.

Exceptional judgement and ability to adapt in rapidly changing settings.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently or collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce, and Asana preferred.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, non-profit administration, or other relevant fields or equivalent relevant work experience

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary for this role is between $105,000 and $112,000.

When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors: candidate skill and experience; room for growth within the band; and internal equity across the team.
