Position Purpose:

Performs advanced (senior-level) analytical and supervisory work. Works with executives, data owners, and stakeholders in defining and implementing business focused data strategies, standards, governance, and procedures. Applies statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize quantitative and qualitative data. Creates actionable insights and understanding in support of current and new business acquisition. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and leads the interpretation of data from multiple sources and across databases using standard statistical analyses.
  • Oversees, leads, and develops programs and reports for data transformation, integration, reduction, and data visualization methods, programs, and scripts across multiple data sets.
  • Sets and provides direction and guidance in the strategic planning for the department.
  • Creates and implements policies and procedures.
  • Writes and revises statistical programs.
  • Oversees and leads the technical development, testing, and documentation of data analysis and analytical reporting including determining the optimal methods for presentation of results.
  • Enhances existing analytic applications for data coding.
  • Oversees and performs various statistical analyses using multiple datasets.
Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, epidemiology, economics, mathematics or related discipline
Experience
  • Seven (7) years in positions of increasing responsibility working with large datasets in data analysis and reporting
  • Seven (7) years conducting statistical modeling, programming, and analysis using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or similar software
  • Seven (7) years health care data analysis and technical writing
  • Seven (7) years medical claims data and/or electronic clinical data
  • Three (3) years management
  • SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization software
