Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will be first line reference and the point of contact for Human Resources related issues and activities. This individual will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including providing backup to the recruiting process, participating in the hiring of staff, administering pay, benefits (alongside the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator), leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices. In this role, you will work directly with the Vice President of HR & People Operations and will be responsible for evaluating matters and communicating them as needed to leadership. Additionally, they will support the Human Resources functions for nearly 175 employees, and work collaboratively with the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator and the Executive Assistant.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•May oversee the Front Desk staff.
•May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
•Works in support of the recruiting process by ensuring the timely progression for recruiting, interviews, and facilitation of the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. The HR generalist will collaborate with departmental managers and the recruiter to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
•Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
•Assists with new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
•Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs. These programs include, but are not limited to compensation, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
•Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
•Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices. Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
•At least three years of human resource management experience preferred.
•SHRM-CP or PHR Certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
•Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
