For decades, TRL Systems has been proud to serve as Southern California’s leading fire life safety and security integrator. We specialize in serving industry segments including healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality, government, multi-tenant and transportation. The Sr. HR Generalist will ensure the efficient operations of task and duties handled through the HR Department. They will plan workloads, allocate tasks, and monitor progress accordingly to meet any identified and agreed upon deadlines. The Sr. HR Generalist will oversee the management of the workers compensation program and LOA benefits as provided by TRL Systems. They will contribute to the development of policy and procedure needed to ensure both state and federal compliance.

Responsibilities are not limited to but will include HR Service Board management, safety training planning and development, documentation management and auditing, and employee relations. Essential Functions: Makes business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with company policies and procedures. Manages any compliance processes and documentation needed for any state/government regulation, ensures timeliness is met and the accuracy of required reporting. Actively participates and oversees the development and management of the company HRIS. Understands system operation, develops, and creates system tools and features to serve both the employee and HR compliance requirements. Reviews all employee complaints or grievances; performs all fact-finding as needed and documents a thorough investigation. Works with and advises management on identifying and facilitating a resolution. Demonstrates knowledge of a wide range of HR concepts, laws, policies, and practices related to employee relations. Develops guidance and provides regulatory and policy advice and assistance on workforce relations matters such as workers compensation, LOA, unemployment, etc. Understands and communicates any and all state and/or legal requirements impacting TRL and its employees and/or management. Identifies needs as they arise and works closely with the HR Manager to adjust policies and or procedures for compliance. Understands and oversees all LOA offerings provided to employees, ensures complete documentation of decisions made, monitors LOAs continually on a case-by-case basis, stays in communication with both employees and management as needed. Works closely with Management to coordinate and facilitate any employee off-boardings, ensures the submission and completion of all required documentation. Monitors and follows through with the entire off-boarding process to ensure legal compliance and thoroughness. Maintains company safety standards, conducting risk assessments and ensuring staff has been administered proper training. Schedules and performs regular office visits to all TRL locations to support and or perform HR functions as needed. Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of performing job duties. Acts as a mentor to HR Admin Staff, developing and training members as needed. Any additional duties as assigned. Position Requirements: 5+ years as an HR Generalist 2+ years in supervision/management Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration A valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance. We also conduct pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations.
