PETSURG & ER4PETS is a full-service, 24-hour emergency and surgery facility located in beautiful, sunny San Diego, CA. Our skilled team specializes in both minor and major surgeries, providing the highest quality care for our patients. We are dedicated to ensuring a comfortable experience and the best critical care outcomes. Our hospital features six exam rooms, two surgical suites, and a conference/break room, providing ample space for work and relaxation. We offer 24-hour urgent and critical care 365 days a year, ensuring we are here when our clients need us most. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Full-Time Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is vital to our operations, ensuring that emergency cases are handled with expertise and urgency and surgeries are supported with precision. The position requires working overnight shifts from 10 PM to 8 AM. Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, emergency care, and radiography is essential Responsibilities: Assist veterinarians in managing and treating emergency cases promptly and efficiently. Perform animal restraint, administer medications, and assist in surgeries, including anesthesia monitoring. Perform X-rays and other technical tasks with precision. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure proper documentation of patient information (we are a paperless practice). Collaborate with coworkers, embracing a "can-do" attitude to ensure the well-being of our animal patients. Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care. Be proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently. Skills and Requirements: Proficiency in veterinary emergency care and/or surgical assistance. Previous experience as a veterinary technician, including familiarity with emergency procedures and dog handling. Ability to handle animal restraint and perform tasks such as kennel management. Knowledge of X-ray procedures and animal catheterization techniques. Strong computer skills for electronic record-keeping (we are a paperless practice). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Team player mindset, with a willingness to assist in various tasks as needed.
