Essential Duties and Responsibilities Issue purchase orders from purchase requisitions in the ERP system according to negotiated terms and company policies Lead and participate in supply chain management problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives Create work orders for internal refurbishments as needed Execute decisions to ensure lowest cost of total ownership Collaborate with other purchasing personnel to maximize inventory turns, on-time delivery, quality improvement, and reduce costs Work closely with internal customers to select reliable sources, request bids, evaluate quotations, and make final supplier selections Resolve delivery, quality, or other supplier performance issues Assist and conduct supplier audits and evaluations as required Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions on standard contracts and service agreements Participate in resolving Accounts Payable issues related to purchase orders Ensure all legal and ethical requirements are met in all transactions Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree and one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Service contracting experience preferred Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs SAP experience highly desired Other Skills and Abilities Strong numerical skills and basic accounting principles Sound knowledge of purchasing principles including research, analysis, negotiation, and closing deals Familiarity with procurement networks and current procurement technology developments Knowledge of materials, products and the commodity market in area of specialization Ability to organize work plans with limited supervision and work with a diverse audience of internal and external customers Capable of maintaining multiple priorities in real time informing internal customers of potential gaps in delivery or availability of parts/services, implementing alternative solutions to prevent adverse impacts Supervisory and Budgetary Responsibilities None Physical Demands Frequently required to sit, use hands, talk, or hear Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Specific vision abilities include close vision The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
