If you want to join a winning team and continue to drive home the culture of success that we’ve built over the last 50 years, we want to speak with you The Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Sales Department and in measuring the performance of the employees in the department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management-related Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them. Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments. Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the vehicle sales department. Attend managers' meetings as requested. Assist the General Manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the vehicle department. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales. We are a “Rogers Way” dealership (exceed customer expectations), support all aspects of our Rogers Way initiative. Personnel-related Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales employees. Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees. Oversee the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership. Communicate with salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed. Monitor salespeople's payroll records. Set sales and gross objectives for salespeople. Guide all salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long-range basis. Review all vehicle salespeople's performance. Assist in developing programs of improvement for those salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives. Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards. Conduct daily and weekly sales training meetings as directed by the Sales Management Team – come to the meeting with an agenda and enthusiasm. Training and holding employees accountable on Rogers Way processes. Sales training using Rapid Ride (Dan Culver methodology). Work with salespeople on programs that will increase the vehicle gross and increase F&I penetration. Customer- and Department-related and other Recommend to the General Manager the vehicle inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses. Develop, implement, and monitor the use of a prospecting program. Help salespeople close deals when necessary. Maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers. Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions. Insure the we treat all customers and co-workers with respect and in a professional manner. Maintain Ethos online training throughout the year. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Two years of automotive sales experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid in-state driver's license. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. WORKING CONDITIONS The Sales Manager works both indoors and out, moving about the dealership facility and lot to communicate with salespeople and customers. This role works closely with the F&I department to transport paperwork and to discuss sales. Weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be required. May go on test-drives.
