Key Position Details: 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks) Day/Evening/Night Every other Weekend Rotation Benefit eligible SEIU Represented Role Training: Required Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM for the first 3 weeks. After training, typical schedule is evenings, but days and nights may be available. Typical Schedule: Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (shifts vary). Job Description: Responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and entering information into the electronic medical record. Principal Responsibilities: Greets and welcomes patients in person, collects demographic and insurance information, checks in or interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork, directs patients to their appointment or procedure, documents any issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record, and may assist in scheduling add-on appointments. Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results, obtains cost information and explains it to patients if necessary, obtains signatures from patients as needed, collects co-pay or deductibles, determines patient need for financial counseling, and offers to explain resources available. Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues. Assists patients in completion of request for information forms and submits to the appropriate department, may gather medical record information from all departments for collection and distribution, and may mentor new staff. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description. 2 to 5 years of revenue cycle experience. 2 to 5 years of customer service experience. 0 to 2 years of general office experience. 0 to 2 years of experience using computers including an electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
