Senior Accountant Job Description
Job Title:
Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant will assist with
the maintenance of general accounting operations. This role includes all balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, fixed assets management, cost analysis, and audit support. The ideal candidate has excellent analytical skills, advanced Excel skills, and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Accounting:
Working knowledge of all departmental accounting functions (GL,AP,AR)
Support month-end and year-end close process.
Identify and communicate process improvements.
2. Compliance and Audits:
Assist with annual financial audit, quarterly sales tax reporting, others.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
3. Analysis and Forecasting:
Analyze financial data including job costing
4. Special Projects:
Support management with special projects and workflow process
improvements.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in
a senior or supervisory role.
Skills:
Proficiency with ERP accounting software
Advanced MS Excel skills
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.o Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented.
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
