About the Hospitality Director Role

As the Hospitality Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our community. You will assist with building and nurturing enduring relationships with members and their families, providing assistance, and ensuring exceptional experiences. You will oversee all operations on property, leading our small team effectively.

We are seeking an individual who:

Has proven success in a service management role, preferably as a general manager in luxury or exclusive environments.

Has exceptional verbal and written communication skills and relationship-building skills.

Has a passion for delivering unparalleled member experiences.

Has leadership experience and the ability to inspire and lead a team.

Possesses a deep understanding of fine dining and hospitality, particularly Japanese cuisine and hospitality.

Is based in the Miami area.

Ideally, a candidate will have worked in hospitality in Japan.

Speaks Japanese conversationally, ideally fluently.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Staff Management and Development

Fostering close relationships with all members and their families, acting as their primary point of contact and attending to their needs and requests.

Playing a crucial role in staff training and development, ensuring our team consistently embodies the essence of our brand.

Lead daily lineup meeting.

Organize and run staff and department head meetings.

Staff counseling in conjunction with Ownership team, including corrective counseling.

Conducting employment interviews.

Conducting employee performance reviews.

Employee terminations.

Conducting exit interviews.

Assist in creating a culture that encourages our staff to grow personally and professionally, act as a mentor.

Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and that all labor cost objectives are met.

Prepare all required paperwork including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

Seamless payroll administration.

Ensure tips are calculated and distributed appropriately in accordance with pay periods and pay structure of various roles.

Make bank deposits as directed by ownership.

Check email regularly and respond to messages.

Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and hospitality.

Know, follow, and implement all policies and procedures regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, standards, and procedures.

In coordination with Ownership, participate in performance counseling and periodic staff reviews.

In conjunction with Ownership, maintain and update service training manuals, including but not limited to service, food, and beverage.

Operational Management

Overseeing flawless dining experiences, collaborating with the culinary team to maintain exceptional service standards and member satisfaction.

Grounds management and maintenance.

Network maintenance.

Oversee organizational, functional, and cleanliness standards are adhered to in the dining room including service items and tools by personal inspection.

Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to subordinates, peers, managers, guests, and vendors.

Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with the restaurant’s accounting policies.

Fill in where needed to ensure the guest experience is never compromised as a result of operational challenges.

Ensure that safety, security and loss control policies and procedures are complied.

Aware of and assist training of other staff on the property’s safety, fire and emergency procedures.

Health inspection - liaison between health inspector and property.

Financial and Administrative Tasks

Assisting with high-level tasks for the company and contributing to our overall goals.

Contributing to the company's success through active participation in strategic planning and decision-making.

Financial review - monthly, quarterly, annually.

Remittance and AP Aging meetings as needed.

Ensure privacy and anonymity of all guests through adherence to company policy.

Understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations/ordinances that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the property, its employees, and its guests.

All other duties as assigned.
