Job Description Title:

Hazard Monitoring Specialist

Reports to:

General Manager

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, perform Hazard Monitoring work in the installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment, and systems; act as lead worker to other classified staff in the area, and perform related work as required.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature:

Prioritizes and incorporates safety throughout planning and execution of the projects.

Assist with Leadman duties and responsibilities.

Ability to work independently as well as with others. Able to supervise as well as delegate responsibilities on projects.

Works with the Leadman to ensure safety, scheduling, design, automation, estimating, ordering, shop/equipment check out, and billing are all correct.

Makes sure all safety procedures are being followed and paperwork is being filled out and turned into the office (JHA, Lockout/Tagout, Permits, Commissioning, and DOT).

Can do the more intricate wiring and electrical needs.

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs new/old equipment and systems.

Grain elevator experience.

Ability to service equipment during a breakdown.

Understands scope of work and discusses with project Leadman on work outside the scope of work.

Able to manage and organize job site materials.

Teaches and trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.

Employees must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.

Employees must be able to perform tasks from an elevated height.

Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.

Be ready and willing to travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills through a variety of formats, such as email, text, telephone, and face to face. The candidate must also be organized to assist in managing jobs sites and complete all necessary paperwork on time and accurately.

The candidate must be a hard-working, self-motivated individual that is safety-oriented while working.

The candidate must have good leadership skills.

Have good knowledge of construction and install techniques.

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below, to be eligible for employment with Jakes Electric.

Education & Experience

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED:

Experience with Agricultural wiring.

License or Certificate:

Candidate must possess excellent analytical and mathematical skills to succeed in the job. Must have knowledge of project software as well as daily used computer applications.
