Summary/Objective

This position will be responsible for a variety of duties to support the bi-weekly payroll function, including checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews and audits payroll, timekeeping and supplemental pay records for compliance with established standards for each bi-weekly payroll.
  • Posts changes in pay, tax status and miscellaneous employee changes.
  • Assists in pulling and organizing data for external audit requests.
  • Completes employment verifications and state employment verification requests.
  • Processes garnishments, tax levies and other wage attachments, responding timely to required deadlines.
  • Processes tax notices and financial reconciliations.
  • Assists in the running of payroll reports to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Assists in production and dissemination of sales commission workbooks.
  • Mailing out live checks and processing unclaimed checks
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience in a service or SAAS environment (Ceridian, ADP, Ultimate, Paychex).
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll; wage withholding and garnishments.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Excellent client and communication skills.
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess sound decision-making skills and multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment with specific deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • This position may also be exposed to chemicals and/ or blood borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low
