Caterpillar, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Irving, Texas. This leadership role involves overseeing a team responsible for the consolidated balance sheet, inventory reporting (including the elimination of unrealized profit), warranty reserve, and the corporate post-sale credit process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset. What You Will Do: Lead and manage a team of 3, evaluating staff performance, providing guidance, and participating in hiring. Oversee inventory reporting processes, ensuring accurate elimination of unrealized profit. Manage the warranty reserve accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Supervise the corporate post-sale credit process, including policy development, monitoring, and reporting. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial reports and statements, including SEC filing footnotes. Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Collaborate with internal and external parties, including corporate consolidations and forecasting teams, internal actuaries, and auditors, presenting financial findings and reports to the associate director. What You Have: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role. Managing People: Ability to lead successful teams and address performance and conflict issues in the workplace. Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic planning in support of the overall business plan. Analytical Thinking: Ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions. Effective Communications: Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas and information. Additional Info: The position will be located in Irving, TX. This role is full-time, hybrid, currently requiring 3 days a week in the office. Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify. Sponsorship is not available.
