We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team and our international company. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for creating Journal Entries, performing Balance Sheet account reconciliations, evaluating and analyzing information received from subsystems, and managing and overseeing the company’s fixed assets. Primary responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, construction in progress and its effect on fixed assets, experience with fuel inventory, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. This individual will be the subject matter expert for all systems used and will prepare various reports and analysis for management and business partners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs all assigned month-end duties and reporting schedules.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset subsystem, ensuring accuracy, and completeness.
  • Record acquisitions, dispositions, transfers, and depreciation of fixed assets.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Analyze asset utilization and provide recommendations for asset management.
  • Evaluate and record lease capitalization changes (in accordance with IFRS-16)
  • Develop and document procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Generate monthly and quarterly fixed asset reports especially fixed asset roll forward.
  • Prepare fixed asset schedules for financial statements and tax reporting.
  • Responsible for effectiveness of internal controls for closing routine process and other general accounting processes including maintenance of risk and control scorecards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports and statements including internal reports for global consolidations.
  • Work directly with both internal and external auditors on financial audits.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting growth environments.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

TRAVEL AND HOURS

  • This position is full-time, standard operating hours – “Hybrid” 3 day in office policy.
  • Minimal travel may be required with this position as part of support responsibilities.
