CLO TRADING ANALYSTEllington Management Group is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a CLO Trading Analyst. This role is ideal for recent graduates from top-tier universities with degrees in technical fields such as mathematics, physics, engineering, or quantitative finance. A passion for financial markets and some programming experience are essential for this role. The position will be located at our New York City office.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze the CLO and credit markets, including primary and secondary markets. Stay updated on market trends, spreads, and performance statistics.
  • Trading Support: Assist senior traders in executing trades, managing portfolios, and optimizing trading strategies.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze market data to identify trading opportunities and risks. Maintain and update trading models and databases.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on market developments, trade performance, and risk assessments.
  • Research: Conduct in-depth research on market conditions, new issuance, refinancing activities, and the impact of macroeconomic factors.
  • Programming: Utilize programming skills to develop and enhance trading tools, automate data analysis processes, and improve trading efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other analysts, traders, and portfolio managers to support trading activities and contribute to the overall investment strategy.
Desirable qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, quantitative finance, or a related technical field from a top-tier university.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in programming languages such as Python or R is helpful but not required. Experience with data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong interest in and understanding of financial markets, particularly fixed income and structured products.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across different functions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred experience:
  • Internships: Previous internship experience in finance, particularly in trading, investment analysis, or related areas.
