About this Position

The Water Resources Engineer position is a non-supervisory water engineering role. This water engineer will assist with the oversight and delivery of the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), especially water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the City's project manager for assigned water and wastewater projects
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, including project procurement and construction management
  • Review engineering submittals including plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Act as a liaison with consultants, external engineers, contractors, and various internal/external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Right-of-Way consultant team to acquire necessary easements
  • Conduct and attend bi-weekly or monthly meetings with design consultant and contractor
  • Take responsibility for approving and processing invoices from consultants and contractors
  • Take responsibility for coordinating with the state's liaison and requesting reimbursements for various loan and grant programs
  • Respond to public and inter-departmental inquiries
  • Prepare information/agendas and provide recommendations to City Council
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Professional Engineer license
  • 4 years of related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Necessary Skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel and GIS software
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera P6 (preferred)
  • Willingness to use a personal vehicle for City business (with mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
