When families are thriving, so is our community.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CASE MANAGERAs a Case Manager, you provide direct assistance and case management to survivors of domestic violence. You work directly with survivors to determine areas of need, set goals, and develop a service plan. Additionally, you perform lethality assessments and crisis counseling and facilitate various support and life skills groups. You provide advocacy and general case management assistance related to legal, financial, medical, mental health, educational, employment, housing, and other social services for survivors and their children. You facilitate linkages with and make referrals to community service providers to accomplish service plan goals. In order to assess the progress toward completing the service plan goals and identify areas requiring further assistance, you regularly conduct follow-up meetings with survivors. You are conscientious about keeping up-to-date and accurate documentation from which you compile statistical data in order to maintain compliance with established funding sources. Your job is highly collaborative, as you work closely with the case management team, community services, various advocates, and IFP attorneys to ensure effective coordination of services. You get great satisfaction out of helping families in our community thriveQUALIFICATIONS FOR A CASE MANAGERDegree in social work, counseling, or a related field OR equivalent professional experienceThe ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish or Creole is preferred. One year of domestic violence case management experienceAbility to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for survivorsAbility to facilitate support groups. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database softwareAbility to complete CORE competency training within 30 days of hireValid Florida driver's license and insurable driving recordAre you organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Do you have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal? Are you patient and calm but quick to respond? Do you have good judgment?
