Leading general contractor in Fort Lauderdale, specializing in high-quality healthcare construction projects. Their preconstruction team is looking to grow as they take on more work this year. This Junior Estimator candidate will work alongside a small team and report into the director of precon.

Description

  • Assist in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for healthcare construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather data and assess project conditions.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance of data.
  • Support the senior estimating team in developing and refining estimating processes and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project goals and expectations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating, preferably with a focus on healthcare construction.
  • Experience with reputable general contractors in the Fort Lauderdale area.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
