Position Overview:

Carollo Engineers is a globally recognized firm specializing in environmental engineering, focusing on the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are looking for a Junior Civil/Environmental Engineer to assist in various water and wastewater treatment and pipeline initiatives. The primary emphasis will be on local projects and clients, while also providing occasional support for projects beyond the local area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct engineering tasks related to water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems.
  • Engage in engineering planning and design projects.
  • Compile and prepare reports.
  • Create plans and specifications.
  • Estimate costs for various water and wastewater initiatives.
  • Perform system modeling.
  • Facilitate permitting and alternative analysis.
  • Draft technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Conduct data entry and analysis.
  • Provide engineering support during construction phases.
  • Participate in field activities, including pilot testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum academic background should include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design.
  • 0 to 4 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification.
  • Application of engineering principles, including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-driven.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Familiarity with software applications such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic calculations/modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM).
