ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Proposal team and Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Projects. Owns multiple schedules simultaneously
  • Responsible for and owner of Customer facing Primavera P6 schedules. Update schedule as required per requirements in the project contracts and provide customer schedule updates as required
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports, baseline reports, look-aheads, and inform Project Managers of performance trends weekly
  • Interfaces with other department employees, subcontractors, and customers on a regular basis. Updates project construction schedules based on input from the subcontractor, construction manager, 3-week look-ahead and daily reports
  • Facilitate and participate in periodic project schedule reviews/audits
  • Constantly monitors and reports on progress of projects in the various weekly project meetings
  • Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems
  • Work with Project Managers to define project objectives and plans their completion; then as needed implements project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Supports Betas global scheduling initiatives. Works with Project Management, Engineering, and Operations on the continuous improvement of Betas approach to schedule management
  • Supports Betas Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) initiative. Drive innovation and development of best practices
  • Must be able to work with confidential information and ensure the security of this information
  • Work on collaboration with Project Management teams to drive consistency of project schedules across project portfolio improve accuracy in project execution and reporting
  • Provide continuous feedback and evaluation on process improvement for project schedule maintenance to the project team
  • Utilizes strong communication skills to work with teams and stakeholders to complete tasks and overcome objections
  • Encourages and motivates internal and external teams to keep project, and related activities, on schedule and on budget

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Host, attend and participate in required project meetings, construction meetings, safety and/or quality meetings to represent Beta Engineering to the group
  • Encourage and motivate internal and external teams to keep project and related activities on schedule and on budget
  • Provides support to project teams by sharing lessons learned as appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited vocational or academic institution in the fields of Construction Management, Engineering or Technology or 5 years industry experience with knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat is required
  • General familiarity with project management practices, methods and techniques is preferred

PREFERRED QUALFIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management; Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong familiarity with project management practices, methods and techniques is preferred
  • General knowledge of high voltage substations or transmission lines is preferred
