Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our manufacturing client's team. The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of the manufacturing business, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the efficient management of company resources. This role involves supervising the accounting team, managing financial systems, and providing strategic support to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Prepare, analyze, and present timely financial statements and reports to senior management.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing actionable insights to management.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring accurate and timely audit processes.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
Manage team workload and workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Leverage technology to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
