Procurement Agent I Intro
The Procurement Agent is responsible for servicing internal clients through the procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, contract administration, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity planning and outreach, compliance management, inventory management, and managing the procure-to-pay cycle.

Procurement Agent I Job Details
- Apply procurement policies, procedures, guidelines, and basic Texas laws, codes, and regulations to procurement activities.
- Collaborate with internal customers to address procurement needs and requirements.
- Assist internal customers with contract administration and vendor performance, including documentation, coordination, and resolution.
- Review purchase requisitions for applicable forms and documents (e.g., NERC, SOC, DOT, EIT, subcontracting, public works, etc.).
- Verify the accuracy, terminology, and specifications of purchase requisitions.
- Coordinate with internal customers to identify scopes of work, specifications, and commercial and regulatory considerations.
- Develop and coordinate RF(x) documents-Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, Invitation for Bid, and Request for Qualifications-to meet business unit needs.
- Initially review exemption forms to determine if the explanation justifies deviation from the competitive bidding process and ensures they are free of errors.
- Coordinate and administer meetings and site visits with suppliers and business units.
- Encourage local, diverse, and small business participation in sourcing events with internal customers and suppliers.
- With management's supervision, coordinate the review of developed customized contract drafts by stakeholders (e.g., Legal, based on associated risk, Internal Client, Risk Management & Insurance Services, Audit Services, Environmental Services, Safety, etc.) to mitigate risk.
- Under management's supervision, review, modify, and negotiate supplier terms and conditions to mitigate risk.
- Participate, with management's supervision, in the decision to award contracts.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and departments originating requests.
- Maintain awareness of safety in day-to-day activities.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- With management's supervision, compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Procurement Agent I Mandatory Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, Engineering, English, Communications, Education, or a related field from an accredited university, or demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, contract development, or a paralegal role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet, electronic mail, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Windows environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, coordinating with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.
