The Opportunity

As the Business Development Manager, you will help the Commercial Director develop, set, and execute strategies to grow the company. This role is dynamic and requires adaptability to the pace of a fast-growing startup. You will manage high-impact partners and their associated projects and be expected to ensure strong lines of communication. Apart from project development, you will attend conferences and other public functions on behalf of Cemvita and collaboratcollaborateee with the science team to understand and communicate product economics and objectives.

Note: This is very much a start-up mentality environment. Responsibilities evolve and specifically in this role you will be wearing a lot of hats and working on a lot of different things. Candidates need to be comfortable with the abstract and have good business strategy skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain critical relationships with our launch partners, investors, and industry experts through direct engagement, virtual meetings, industry and social events Respond promptly to customer inquiries, addressing their needs and providing appropriate solutions Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential new business opportunities in existing or future product markets, partnerships, and potential acquisitions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create customized proposals, presentations, and contract language Guide financial modeling efforts to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of new business initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling business cases for new product developments or market expansions. Consistently demonstrate company core values

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline; alternatively, 10+ years in chemical industry will satisfy 5+ years’ experience in chemical sales/business development Bring expertise, innovation, humility, and a strong intellectual curiosity about our overall mission of reducing the carbon footprint associated with heavy industrial processes Strong analytical skills Good communication skills Presentation development/delivery

MBA Prior experience at a startup
