Description

The Business Development Representative is responsible for delivering qualified leads in support of energy efficiency program initiatives sponsored by partner utilities. The Marketing Coordinator will use a wide variety of marketing strategies to cultivate relationships with business owners and managers, with the specific intent of presenting the benefits of the energy efficiency programs, and to convince the customer to move forward with company-provided services. The individual uses set parameters to assess each facility's eligibility to participate in the utilities' programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct person to person canvassing within RISE's service territory
  • Distribute marketing materials to qualified leads
  • Use of telemarketing, direct mail and in-person visits to drive leads
  • Visually evaluate potential clients current lighting situation to assess their needs
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of marketing efforts
  • Perform ad hoc project roles as directed by the manager
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel daily to customers' businesses.
  • Proven customer support experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications a must
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Serve as a resource to others
  • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Identify solutions to requests and problems
  • Provide evaluation and analyses of projects
  • Ability to work cross functionally with different business units * Demonstration of an active commitment to fostering business and client objectives for adoption of clean energy technologies
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in marketing, communications or related field or previous work experience in a sales related position
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency initiatives
  • Bilingual
