**Job Summary:**

The Computer Merchant, LTD. is seeking a highly skilled Cobol AS/400 Systems Developer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex Cobol applications on the AS/400 platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Perform IBM iSeries administration tasks, including security and role management, to ensure the integrity and security of our systems.
  • Application Development: Develop and maintain Cobol applications, including deployment to production environments, to meet the needs of our business.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze system performance and capacity to ensure optimal resource utilization and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security and compliance policies, including IRS Publication 1075 requirements, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
  • Communication: Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and processes.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with Cobol programming and AS/400 platform
  • Strong understanding of system administration, security, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
