OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Coordinates all Training Department Field activities in conjunction with Managers and Chief Instructors.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizes, plans, and schedules daily activities of Field Training Staff. Monitors and coordinates the schedules of Training Instructors in consultation with Chief Instructors. Maintains Employee Training Records for the department. Assists in the compilation of training information and data from databases for report preparation on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including conducting statistical analyses. Prepares and handles various reports and correspondence with a high degree of confidentiality. Assists in the maintenance of data gathered in the operations of the Training Department via databases. Assists with report preparation and maintenance of statistical reports related to Training activities. Performs school and location visits. Coordinates and manages relationships with colleges and universities (College Fairs, etc.). Assists with training development validation projects. Maintains documentation and data to support the validation process. Coordinates the schedules of Training Department staff and Auxiliary Instructors. Schedules meetings and conferences accordingly and prepares correspondence to accomplish same. Assists in the development and preparation of materials in support of departmental training initiatives. Assists with Payroll operations and functions as necessary. Performs Payment/invoice verification and processing for Training Department vendors, etc. Coordinates ordering of supplies for field locations. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Transportation, Education, or related field or Associate's Degree from a Certified Technical Scool required.
  • An equivalent combination of Human Resources/Administrative experience and education (i.e.. two years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post-high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of computer programs in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database maintenance.

  • Experience working in Maintenance and Field environments; conducting site visits and performing needs assessments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Must demonstrate an ability to effectively deal with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
