Pay Range: $18-20/hour Based on YOE
Brief Summary:
The Payroll Tax Coordinator will handle various payroll tax-related tasks, including account registrations, reconciliations, tax tracers, and communications with taxing authorities. This role requires payroll tax experience, preferably with ADP Enterprise, and involves updating tax accounts related to mergers, consolidations, and divestitures.
Responsibilities:
- Complete and submit new account registration forms to taxing jurisdictions.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll monthly tax impound journal entries.
- Handle escalated tax tracers and communicate with taxing authorities to resolve account issues.
- Perform all year-end reconciliations to ensure Wage Statements and tax filings are accurate.
- Assist with the reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Follow up on newly applied-for state accounts and update third-party vendors with new account information.
- Perform periodic and quarterly tax reconciliations to ensure tax filings are correct.
- Audit tax accounts for activity and coordinate with the Payroll Tax Coordinator to close any inactive accounts.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Tax Department when opening new local and state tax accounts.
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accountancy, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 2 years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
- Good understanding of payroll tax and payroll processing software programs, preferably ADP Enterprise.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
