Job Summary

As a Senior Payroll Specialist at Extremity Care, you will oversee the payroll process for our diverse workforce, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role also involves spearheading audit responses and serving as a subject matter expert on payroll procedures and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and reconcile payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in status.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, taxes, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and ensure accurate payment of payroll taxes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and related issues, providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and processes.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and provide insights on trends and issues.
  • Mentor and train junior payroll staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant regulations and internal organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, and maintain a professional work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPP, FPC) is a plus.
  • Clearance of favorable background investigation required.
