OCCU is looking for a Mortgage Lending Support Specialist to join our high performing team. The Mortgage Lending Support Specialist records home equity deeds and processes loan payoffs and reconveyances. They support other mortgage lending related tasks, projects or initiatives as needed and complete all tasks with the utmost care to optimize the member experience.

Every day you will:

  • Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
  • Record all home equity loans and lines of credit deeds with the proper county within required timelines.
  • Process reconveyances to ensure OCCU is properly removed as lien holder.
  • Perform quality control and process home equity and mortgage pay off requests.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions for insufficient payoffs or issues directly related to a payoff request.
  • Fund home equity loans and lines of credit while maintaining effective tracking systems. Review all signed loan documents for accuracy prior to funding.
  • Communicate with members post home equity loan or line of credit funding and share product features.
  • Partner with title companies to ensure deeds are recorded and stored accurately.
  • Maintain vendor relationships with deed recording partners.
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure home equity loan and lines of credit files are complete from origination to funding, including loan documentation.
  • Maintain detailed notes within LOS throughout entire loan transaction.
  • Effectively communicate with managers and internal partners on all TRID and disclosure timing related items.
  • Conform and schedule closing/funding dates and coordinate signing.
  • Order verifications, property evaluations, title reports, subordinations, modifications, account transfers, and requested other critical documentation needed to assist in processing a file. Provide feedback to management on suggested policy changes or enhancements.
  • Adhere to OCCU's privacy policy and appropriately verify members and accounts according to expectations. Maintain member account information on OCCU computer systems and ensure that appropriate and accurate records are maintained. Preserve confidentiality and integrity in all interactions.
  • Must follow all regulatory requirements, quality control guidelines and department-required timelines. Proactively identify and communicate issues which may prevent reaching these timelines.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
  • Minimum one year similar or related experience.
  • Experience using Meridianlink and Encompass preferred.
