To manage financial operations for the following areas: financial reporting, general accounting, risk management and treasury for responsible legal entities. To manage and oversee the accounting and reporting of fixed asset and capital spending. Responsible for internal control effectiveness and compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting policies for the above areas across the responsible entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting:
Manages monthly and quarterly financial reporting and related internal controls for responsible legal entities.
Manages the reconciliation of intercompany payables and receivalbes with multiple group companies,including the monthly/quarterly payment process.
Manages a staff of 6 G/L, AP, AR Accountants.
Manages the fixed asset system within SAP and Sage Fixed Asset Software (tax) including the reconciliation of capital in progress by project along with associated fixed asset and depreciation accounts. Monthly books the required depreciation entry and capitalization of assets under construction.
Manages the reporting of quarterly capital investment spending
Work directly with Group IFRS team as a Country Hub representative
Insurance:
Back up of Manager N.A. FSC
Taxation:
Assists in preparation with the US Tax Manager the annual tax reporting for internal and external auditors,including reporting of the local property tax return as related to the manageement of fixed assets.
Assists in preparation with the US Tax Manager the annual tax package.
Assists in preparation with the US Tax Manager required sales tax returns and resolves issues as needed.
Treasury:
Manages daily overnight borrow/invest determinations for established accounts.
Manages cash flow reporting as required by Group Treasury.
Manages foreign exchange hedging as needed.
Manages books entry payments (via journal entry) for revolvers shared with intercompany accounts asneeded.
Other:
Manages IFRS 16 lease equipment for financial statement and corporate and tax reporting.
Participate in Group IFRS team and network
Manages government survey required reporting.
Manages investment spending data and balance sheets for annual plan and rolling forecasts for related USentities.
Performs financial analysis as needed for management.
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
At least 8+ years of previous experience in an operational accounting setting required. Primarily fixed assetaccounting, cash management, receivables and payables. Exposure to international consolidations andfinancial statement preparations required.
Prior Management experience
Strong understanding of various tax and depreciation concepts as well as banking concepts.
Strong understanding of IFRS compliance.
Experience using Hyperion Software System, SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Basware P2P and Sage FixedAsset software preferred.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word required
Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom-Munksjo's Information Security policies and is for his/her own partresponsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using informationsystems or information networks
