Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor is key in driving the production performance of the facility, achieving production targets, and identifying improvement opportunities. This role provides leadership and direction to the production team, promoting a collaborative environment that adapts to changing business needs. This position is for the Swing shift. The shift schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am (Four 10-hour shifts per week). Supervisors are expected to arrive before their shift to prepare for the day. Overtime is offered on select Fridays as needed by the company. The supervisor position is a salaried position that pays overtime at an hourly rate for any hours worked above 40 hours per week. The pay range for this role is 45-55K+, depending on experience.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise and direct team members in manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to operating principles and company policies.
  • Balance the management of processes, equipment, team, safety, and housekeeping, ensuring production meets quality and quantity standards.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to reach goals, and appreciate them when goals are met.
  • Hold team members accountable and coach individuals when expectations are not met.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all processes and equipment.
  • Train, evaluate, and review staff performance.
  • Quickly solve problems; anticipate and address issues before they cause problems
  • Organize workflow to enhance operations efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Oversee proper product handling, including identification, weighing, and storage.
  • Ensure accurate completion and filing of all related paperwork.
  • Keep accurate manufacturing records and reports, including production data and inventory management.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Additional Responsibilities
  • Foster a team-oriented environment and commitment to department objectives among team members.
  • Attend department meetings. Some meetings are led by the supervisor, some require advanced preparation.
  • Participate actively in company, departmental, and safety policies and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Handle additional tasks as needed.
Job Qualifications
  • One - three years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Knowledge Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in production and inventory control software, along with standard office applications.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, material handling, and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
